The Missouri FOI Center maintains a national clearinghouse on access to
information from the federal to the state level, along with files on many
journalism topics dating back to its founding in 1958. The Center is active
in helping states enact open meetings and records laws by providing
information and answering questions from reporters, editors, students,
educators, attorneys and organizations around the country.

in 1866, the Mississippi Press Association is a trade organization which represents
Mississippi daily and non-daily newspapers published at least once a week
